About TOYOTA Alternators Spare Parts
You might think that your Toyota relies solely on its battery to power all its electrical systems. However, its charging system also includes another important component - the alternator. While the battery is used to start your car, the alternator keeps the electrical components going while the engine is running.
Typically, an alternator should last anywhere from 7 to 10 years. Once it reaches the end of its lifespan, whether due to wear and tear that follows normal use or because of a defective part, you will be able to easily diagnose the problem because your Toyota will begin exhibiting telltale signs - first of which is flickering headlights. Your headlights may become brighter or dimmer as you accelerate or decelerate your engine, or become dimmer in general, hinting that insufficient power is being generated by the alternator. Next is a weak battery. The alternator helps to send power to the battery, but if it’s faulty, it won’t be able to recharge the battery. You may also begin to hear grinding noises. Your alternator is made up of multiple moving parts such as a stator, rotor and bearings, any of which can malfunction and/or dislodge, in turn producing strange sounds.
