About Ignition Coils
The ignition coil converts the battery's electricity into high-powered electricity to enduce the spark for the spark plugs to ignite the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber.
Symptoms of a bad ignition coil include engine shaking, sputtering, or lack of power. One sign that the ignition coil needs replacement includes a noticable decrease in fuel efficiency. Other signs include a misfiring engine that causes power loss, when the vehicle does not start, or when the ""check engine"" dashboard light is lit.
