Radiator caps help catch coolant overflow, keep your engine cooling system operating at optimal pressure and temperature, and maintain optimal performance for your vehicle.
As the radiator cap is designed to perform critical functions for the car, one of the problems associated with a faulty cap, is the release of coolant, which overflows from the reservoir tank. When this happens, the radiator cap should be replaced before any more damage occurs to the radiator. A faulty cap will always allow air into the cooling system which later affects the thermostat, hose, and heater core. A damaged radiator hose may indicate a damaged radiator cap.
