The chassis of a vehicle is the framework on which all other parts and components are based around. Various parts including the axle assemblies, brakes, engine, and more are bolted onto this frame, essentially making the chassis the most important part of a vehicle.
Examples of chassis components include axle beam assemblies, engine members, lower control arms, member assemblies, stabilizer bar links, tension rods, and swing arms.
